Streamlined Permitting

Certain types of permits qualify for expedited processing due to emergency need, County policy, or state law. Below are some of those permit types:

Over-the-Counter 

• OTC permits are intended for routine repairs, replacements, and non-structural improvements that meet established eligibility criteria and can be safely reviewed and issued quickly, often through Permit Sonoma’s online permitting system.

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

• Forms and checklists necessary to utilize Permit Sonoma’s Expedited Permitting Process for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (EVCS).

Express Application Review

• Express Team is to provide an express review of applications that neither qualify for over-the-counter (OTC) issuance nor rise to the level of a complex plan check review.  The goal is to bypass the normal plan check process for qualified applications.
